 Webster Bank’s Treasury function consists of Asset Liability Management (ALM), Investment Portfolio, Funding and Sales. The ALM, Portfolio and Funding units of Treasury manage the Bank’s interest rate and liquidity risk positions to increase and protect expected net interest income through effective risk modeling, strategy development, trade execution and influencing loan and deposit pricing strategies. Treasury manages the Bank’s capital structure to minimize the cost of capital while ensuring adequate capitalization levels through analytic insight, modeling and market knowledge. The Treasury Sales unit of Treasury partners with Commercial and Retail bankers to grow the customer base for interest rate protection products (derivatives) and short term cash management products (deposits, repos, Eurodollars). Treasury maintains liability margins through competitive but disciplined pricing.
