(9/2/10) — Senior members of Webster's Finance, Risk and Government & Institutional Banking teams spent the day today helping to spruce up the Children's Community School in Waterbury, Conn.
Participants (see photo) painted the area outside the school’s pre-K area to help fulfill accreditation requirements and cleaned and re-organized its library room.
Webster has a long relationship with the school, having sponsored a class there for the past six years. The Children's Community School is Waterbury's only private, non-religious school dedicated to urban youth. It is a NEASC accredited, pre-K through grade 5 school that is dedicated to working with children from low-income families who are socially, environmentally or academically disadvantaged.
The team included Jerry Plush, senior executive vice president and chief financial officer, Dan Bley, chief risk officer, and team members from their departments.
"The team really enjoyed working together at the Children's Community School," Plush said. "Not only were we able to help out a truly worthwhile organization, but it was also a great team-building experience."
