(9/16/09) — A team of employees from Webster’s Consumer Finance unit got out their shovels and gardening gloves today to help build an outdoor learning garden for the child care program at the Meriden (Conn.) YMCA.
Eleven Webster employees joined forces with a local Lowe’s, which provided all the materials, to build a retaining wall and plant a butterfly garden. “We made a tremendous difference to the lives of more than 140 children who attend the Y every day, and also had a lot of fun doing it as a team,” said Nitin Mhatre, executive vice president, consumer finance. “It was a great experience and it was our way of putting The Webster Way in motion.”
In addition to Mhatre, the team included: Linda Berube, Denise Pandolfo, David Stachurski, Matthew Cammarota, Dave Birulin, Karl Adamsons, Jennifer Harris, Rich Landau, Steve Freyermuth, and Janine Thomas.
