(1/15/10) — Webster Bank announced today that it has pledged $10,000 to the American Red Cross Haiti Relief Fund to help the victims of the earthquake in Haiti.
“Our hearts go out to the people of Haiti,” said Webster Chairman and CEO Jim Smith. “Several of the New England cities Webster serves have significant Haitian populations. I can only imagine how devastating this must be for those whose relatives and friends were on the island when the earthquake occurred. As a company, we are reaching out to our employees, customers and friends and asking them to join us in supporting the Red Cross in their emergency relief and recovery operations.”
