(5/24/10) — Webster Bank has named Katherine Vines-Trumbull, senior vice president, associate counsel, as its Outstanding Volunteer in recognition of her work with a Hartford, Conn., non-profit organization that gives residential treatment and educational services for at-risk girls and women.
Vines-Trumbull (photo) served as president of the board of directors for The Shelter For Women (SFW) during its recent successful capital campaign and multimillion-dollar renovation of its Hartford site. She also served on the board as chair of the nominating and governance committee.
"Katherine's wise leadership has helped to produce a board membership that is singular in its vigor, talent, and strategic thinking for the organization," said Margaret Nareff, SFW's executive director. "She has not simply given an extraordinary amount of time, but the quality of her service to SFW sets her apart from other volunteers".
Each year Webster Bank's Employee Volunteer Recognition Program honors the volunteer work of employees and includes the selection of one outstanding volunteer. The honoree is selected by a committee of peers to serve as a company-wide role model for “giving of ourselves in the communities we serve” one of the tenets of The Webster Way.
As part of the award, Webster made a $750 donation to SFW.
