What browser am I using?

What browsers does Webster support?

The WebsterOnline's supported browsers are:

  • Internet Explorer: Version 8.0 and Higher
  • Firefox: Version 8.0 and Higher
  • Chrome: Version 16.0.889 and Higher
  • Safari: Version 5.1.6 and Higher


Additionally, cookies must be enabled in your browser settings in order to log on to Webster Online Services:

How do I enable cookies?

For Internet Explorer:

  • Click “Tools” at the top of the browser window
  • Select “Internet Options”
  • Click the “Privacy” tab
  • The slider under “Settings” must be set to Medium-High or lower

 

For Mozilla Firefox:

  • Click “Tools” at the top of the browser window
  • Select “Options”
  • Click the “Privacy” tab
  • Under the “Cookies” section, “Accept cookies from sites” must be checked

How do I upgrade my browser?

For Internet Explorer:

  • Visit the Microsoft web site at Microsoft.com
  • Follow the prompts to download the latest version of Internet Explorer

For Mozilla Firefox

  • Visit the Mozilla Firefox site at Mozilla.com
  • Follow the prompts to download the latest version of Mozilla Firefox

How do I clear my browser's cache memory?

If you are seeing “old” information (i.e., you aren’t seeing updates you know should be there) on a web page you may need to refresh the page.

For Internet Explorer:

  • Click “Tools” at the top of the browser window
  • Select “Internet Options”
  • Go to the “Temporary Internet Files” or “Browsing History” section.
  • Click “Delete”
  • Depending on your browser version, you may need to confirm that the “Temporary Internet Files” checkbox is enabled.
  • Click “Delete”

For Mozilla Firefox:

  • Click “Tools” at the top of the browser window
  • Select “Clear Private Data”
  • Confirm that the “Cache” checkbox is enabled.
  • Click “Clear Private Data Now”
