What types of tax forms can I get online?

If you are a Personal Online Services customer, you will get the following tax forms for your personal deposit and loan accounts:

1042 S – Interest Income for Foreign Persons
1098 - Mortgage Interest Statement
1098 C - Contributions of Motor Vehicles, Boats, and Airplanes
1098 E - Student Loan Interest Statement
1098 T - Tuition Statement
1099 A - Acquisition and Abandonment
1099 B - Proceeds from Broker and Barter Exchange Transaction
1099 C - Cancellation of Debt
1099 CAP - Changes in Corporate Control and Capital Structure
1099 DIV - Dividends and Distributions
1099 G - Certain Government Payments
1099 H - Health Coverage Tax Credit (HCTC) Advance Payments
1099 INT – Interest Income
1099 LTC - Long-Term Care and Accelerated Death Benefits
1099 – Miscellaneous
1099 OID - Original Issue Discount

Tax forms are provided based on your taxpayer identification number. If you are a joint account holder, the tax form is issued based on the primary account holder’s taxpayer identification number. Tax forms are not provided if the combined amount of interest earned in any interest-bearing account is less than $10.00. For loan accounts, you must have paid $600.00 or more in interest that year to receive a tax form.

How do I access my tax form online?

Once your tax forms are available online, an email alert will be sent to the email address in your Online Profile. To access your tax forms, you can: a) click on the link in the email to sign in to your account and you will be taken to the Tax Forms area; or b) simply sign in to your account and go to the Online Banking>Related Services>Tax Forms area. Tax forms are available online for a minimum of 3 years, beginning with your 2011 tax forms. You can view, print or download your tax forms any time it’s convenient for you.

Can I get tax forms online for my business accounts?

If you are a Business Online Services customer, your tax forms are not available online at this time. Tax forms will be mailed to your address on file by the required IRS delivery date(s). To request duplicate copies of tax forms for your business accounts, you can visit any branch location, telephone our Customer Care Center at 800.995.9995, or mail a request to: Customer Service Department, P.O. Box 10305, WFD 730, Waterbury, CT 06726.

How will I know when my tax forms are available online?

Tax forms will be available online by the required IRS delivery date(s). Once your tax forms are available online, an email alert will be sent to the email address in your Online Profile.

Do I need any special software to view and print my tax forms?

Tax forms are available online as a PDF document. You will need to use Adobe Reader to view, print or download your tax forms. If you do not have Adobe Reader, you can download it from the Tax Forms page or by clicking here.

What if I need to make a correction or update my information?

If a correction is required, you can visit any branch location, telephone our Customer Care Center at 800.995.9995, or by mailing a request to: Customer Service Department, P.O. Box 10305, WFD 730, Waterbury, CT 06726.

Will my corrected tax forms be available online?

Yes, your corrected tax forms will be available online as soon as we process the information. Corrected tax forms will include the word "corrected" next to the form name so you can easily identify them. Once your corrected tax forms are available online, an email alert will be sent to the email address in your Online Profile.

Is my online tax form the official statement I can give to the IRS?

Yes, the tax form you download and print from our website is the same as you would get in the mail and is on Webster Bank letterhead.

Why did I get my loan interest on my loan bill?

In some cases, your Mortgage Interest Statement (1098 form) may be included on a combined bill along with your December statement. In this case, you will not receive a standalone 1098 interest statement online.

I did not receive my tax form in the mail and there is no tax form online?

A 1099 statement will not be mailed or available online if the combined interest earned is less than $10.00. If you paid less than $600.00 in loan interest last year, you will also not receive a 1098. If you are unsure, you can always inquire at any branch location or by telephoning our Customer Care Center at 800.995.9995.

Why did I not receive my tax form in the mail?

A 1099 statement will not be mailed or available online if the combined interest earned is less than $10.00. If you paid less than $600.00 in loan interest last year, you will also not receive a 1098.

Paper copies of your tax forms will not be delivered by mail if your Banking Notices preference is electronic. You can update your Banking Notices preferences at anytime by visiting the eDelivery Preferences area in your WebsterOnline profile.

What if I need a duplicate tax form?

You can view, print or download your tax form online any time it's convenient for you. But if you ever need a duplicate copy of your tax forms, you can visit any branch location, telephone our Customer Care Center at 800.995.9995, or mail a request to: Customer Service Department, P.O. Why did I receive a 1099-MISC or 1099-INT?

You may receive either a1099-MISC or a 1099-INT if you received any incentive or promotional payments. You may also receive these forms if you had ATM surcharges rebated or interest earned on a mortgage escrow account during the tax year.
